Today’s forecast sponsored by DRYmedic of Indianapolis. When Indiana weather turns nasty, the cleanup often begins after the storm. Reach out to DRYmedic.
Today is nothing special, weatherwise. It's starting out a little cool and temps will be comfortable. We have a few light showers lingering up in the northern part of the state and then a few very light, isolated showers might pop up in parts of Central and Southern Indiana this afternoon - just enough to cause you to look up and say, "What the heck?"🤔
Northern Indiana starts with a few sprinkles or a light shower possible this morning, then turns dry and pleasant by afternoon. The NWS Northern Indiana discussion mentions weak forcing and very light precipitation early, then highs well into the 70s with quiet weather returning. Winds stay light from the east, generally 3–8 mph, with gusts mostly around 10–12 mph or less. Barometric pressure holds near 30.03 early and rises only slightly through the day. Travel looks good after any brief morning sprinkle.
Central Indiana is partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a sprinkle or light shower possible, but most areas will not see much more than brief nuisance rain. The Indianapolis discussion notes HRRR trying to develop a few showers/storms, but dry low levels make sprinkles or virga more likely than meaningful rainfall. Winds stay light from the east/northeast around 5–10 mph, with gusts mostly near 10–12 mph. Pressure stays close to 30.00 this morning and drifts toward 30.04 by evening. Travel conditions are generally good.
Southern Indiana has the quietest setup today with partly sunny skies, highs near 80, and very low rain chances. The Louisville discussion keeps southern Indiana mostly dry, with only isolated activity focused farther south and west of the area. Winds are light from the northeast to east-northeast, generally 1-5 mph, with minimal gustiness. Barometric pressure sits near 30.03 early and slowly rises toward 30.06 by evening. Travel conditions are excellent.
The next few days look really nice. Rain?...possible this weekend both Saturday and Sunday.
That's all I've got today.
