Good Morning! Well, those storms started a few hours late, but that first round that went through between 5:30 and 6:15 this morning packed quite a punch with a lot of lightning and some straightline winds around 65-70mph. We have patio furniture all over our yard and they NEVER get blown around!
I know that the tornado sirens went off in Zionsville and in Hamilton County. I did see one small cell on radar that looked like it could have some rotation. However, I think the sirens went off because of the straightline winds. They were really strong and likely caused some damage.
So... for today... We can expect rain off and on... more on, than off. I do think that the heavy winds are done and chance for extreme weather is very low. But, we could see some periods of lightning which could cause outdoor sports, Easter egg hunts, and the Carmel Marathon to be shortened, delayed, or canceled. This mostly depends on the lightning threat, which is moderate right now.
For Easter Sunday, I'm seeing some rain in the morning up to around 8-9am, then clearing a bit through late afternoon when we could see a few more isolated showers - no thunderstorms.
I'll update you later today with a more difinitive forecast for tomorrow.
