This Week-At-A-Glance Forecast sponsored by Mahjongg Marcia. Don't know how to play? Well... it's time to learn!
Alright gang… after a soggy and occasionally stormy stretch lately, this week actually starts out pretty decent for Central Indiana standards. Memorial Day itself looks fairly quiet overall. We may still deal with a few leftover clouds and fog early, but the trend through Monday afternoon is toward drier weather with temperatures in middle to upper 70s. Humidity won’t be awful either. Basically… not bad grilling weather if Uncle Rick can stay away from political debates near the bratwursts.
Tuesday may end up being one of the better days of the week - at least during the daytime hours. We should see a nice mix of sunshine and clouds with comfortable humidity levels and highs in the mid-70s. Winds stay pretty manageable too. It’s one of those “open the windows and save the A/C bill for a day” kind of setups. But, we could get some isolated creeping in late and into the overnight hours... nothing earth-shattering!
By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures climb back toward 80 degrees, humidity starts creeping upward again, and scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast, primarily on Wednesday. Right now, I’m not seeing widespread washout days, but there will likely be hit-or-miss storms around — especially during peak heating hours later in the day.
Friday into Saturday keeps the warmer. Expect highs near or just above 80 degrees with just a slight chance for spotty rain and an isolated t-storm. The good news? There should still be plenty of dry hours, so don’t cancel outdoor plans just yet. Just keep the Stubby WX app nearby because radar season is officially back in business.
By Sunday, rain chances are still minimal at about 15%. We’ll likely keep a mix of sun and clouds with warm mid-70 temperatures sticking around.
Bottom line:
Comfortable start… warmer and possibly a little wetter middle/end of the week… and typical late-May Indiana weather where you’ll probably use sunglasses, flip-flops, and radar apps all within the same 48-hour period.
